EXPLORE
What is EXPLORE?
EXPLORE is the Edvantage™ module which provides the
most comprehensive and detailed data structure in a highly customized environment to facilitate efficient enterprise
reporting and unlimited custom query capability. EXPLORE
extends the data foundations of FAST TRACK, CORE, EXPAND, and
ADVANCE so technical users can employ data mining and
other high-end analytical techniques for exploratory research
purposes. All data is refreshed nightly through prescheduled
automated build processes. Data elements support NCLB
and State reporting requirements.
Who uses EXPLORE?
EXPLORE is useful for professional educational researchers, grant managers, consultants, policy makers, strategic
planners and others who need to rely on technical reports
and analysis when conducting exploratory educational
research. Self-service information retrieval, drill-down analysis, comparative metrics, custom reports, and sophisticated
statistical analysis for technical users is primarily accomplished
through ad-hoc query and other custom data extractions.
EXPLORE is also used for technical reporting and analysis
activities such as longitudinal analysis and cohort tracking.
How does EXPLORE help with educational research and analysis?
EXPLORE helps uncover achievement gaps in literacy for specific groups
of students, track longitudinal performance trends of specific groups of
students in skill areas such as reading, writing, and mathematics, validate the importance of smaller learning community structures to improve
student attendance, and bring to light other important issues through professional research and analysis. EXPLORE is used, as an example, to verify
how student course grades are comparing to results on state assessments
and other standardized measures, and to determine if grading patterns
are reflecting consistency in grading criteria across learning communities
and course offerings.
